Ismaya group has their hits and misses, and one of the places that they got it right is GIA Ristorante. So when I heard that they’re opening its sister restaurant, I was happy and excited. Osteria Gia is small, but somehow manage to look spacious at the same time. I like their rustic Italian look with colorful stained glass ornaments plus the red and white plaid booth seats. The small front seating area with glass ceiling also insync with the rest of the interior. It certainly build up your appetite for some Italian food.

Osteria Gia is probably one of the happening new thing right now, so it’s best to make a reservation before you visit.

Here are some of the things that I ordered on my first visit:

Crispy Calamari (IDR 105.000): Really really crispy, freshness that you can taste from the squid, perfect to be eaten with the sweet black Aioli sauce.

Crispy Calamari

Spaghetti Aglio Olio (IDR 140.000): This pasta might sound boring to you, but the taste was far more than that. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the prawn was good, and the wine sauce was superb.

Sirloin Bistecca (IDR 375.000): 300gr Stockyard grass feed beef with bone-marrow butter and caramelized onion. The beef was a bit too fatty for me, but pretty good flavorwise.

Pizza Quatro Formaggi (IDR 155.000): Thin crust pizza with black truffle mushrooms, mozzarela, gorgonzola, parmigiano, pacorino and egg toppings. Love the crust, flavorful pizza.

I love Osteria Gia’s overall menu and ambience. It’s authentic Italian food feels homey and I can see myself coming back for more.
